Boundaries Are a Clinical Intervention

When patients ask what is making them sick, the answer is often not a medication they need but a "no" they have not said. Boundaries are not selfish. They are how the nervous system learns it is safe.
Why Boundaries Heal
Saying no to what depletes you is how you say yes to what restores you. Every honest boundary lowers cortisol, protects sleep, and frees the energy your body needs to heal.
Five Whole-Person Steps
Identify the one yes that is breaking you.
Practice a short, kind script. "That does not work for me."
Expect discomfort. Guilt is not proof you are wrong.
Repair where you can, without abandoning yourself.
Get support — therapy, psychiatry, faith community — while you grow this muscle.
